Dear Cubitt Family,
since we have the opportunity to have a computer AND a connection in Dimitri's house where we are right now, let us tell you that we check out your site every now and then and keep track of your trip. Dimitris printed for me, yesterday, Janet's log about Nafpaktos and brought it to me as a surprise and we were so happy we were gonna read about it, that we rolled our cigarettes, sat to the coach comfortably, and read out loud... By the end of it though, I couldn't read out loud, as I was crying already..
We are so happy you were stuck in Nafpaktos harbor (sorry Janet & kids) as we had the chance to meet such a lovely family.
From day one, when I first saw you in ADAGIO, I couldn't wait for the time to pick up the kids, I was very excited. Dimitris felt excited too, the following day when he was driving by the port and saw the kids at the marina, called me immediatedly and told me: "I saw them! I saw them!"
From the first moment I took them they got into my heart... And with our first visit at the famous now, shoestore, they got into Dimitri's heart too, his brother's too! We were so surprised of how pretty, polite, and smart kids they were.. They are true bonded brothers, who love each other, and are really patient and understanding with each other. All this starts within family so we already knew how great parents Janet and Code were..
After the second day with the kids Janet and I chatted in the boat. I guess there's no much need to describe my impression of Janet as you all know her. She is beautiful, very calm, great talker and listener, perfect cook (Thanks Janet, the fish is called τσιπούρα / tsipoura by the way), very fit and a great mom. We are so happy we met you, we really enjoyed talking and spending time with you. I loved having you staying over at my place with the kids. It was really nice waking up next morning and doing yoga with you after a cup of coffee, or two...
Then, it was time pick up Code, finally, the father and husband we heard so much about. It was so sweet to see them together in Antirio where he was waiting for us, and then when we got back at my place and I saw him how great he was with the kids too..
Dimitris and I were invited at the boat a couple times, where they showed us around, had some beers and chatted altogether. Dimitris felt that he knew you, the family, for a long time, and despite the difficulty of different languages he really enjoyed talking with you, especially about the economy of both countries, yours and ours, and jobs. We were very happy to be invited for a sailing with you guys, it would be our first sailing, that the next morning he woke up so happy and hyper he was jumping around, something I couldn't follow without a coffee first.
Last day with you all, was this wonderful half morning sail with you. It was nice sitting here and there in the boat, either with kids, either with you, enjoying the ride, watching the dolphins, and jellyfish! I can't hide though, that my feelings were kinda mixed up, I felt both happy and sad, no need to mention the reasons...
After jumping into the sea when you anchored at Trizonia island, and had a last good swim with you, it was time for us to get into the dingy with the boys and leave you... That was a really sad and teary moment, followed by the moment we sat at the marina and watched Graeme (as he suggested we should watch him) being in charge of the dingy back to boat and making circles like a dog chasing his tail! But after Aethan, the captain of the dingy, he is the best first mate of it!
We hope that you will have the best time, during the rest of your trip and that you will meet great people and places everywhere you go. We sure hope we will see you again soon all of you, either here, or in US! So, beware, coz we were checking out the map of USA a while ago!
We miss you all already, it was a pleasure we met you!
